Eat Local Campaign
Connecting Local Producers to Local Eaters
In 2017 Slow Food launched a global, interactive campaign to support our local farmers and food producers, cut down on imports, and cook with local ingredients. The campaign was designed to put the relationship between food and climate change into the spotlight. Our food system contributes massively to our total greenhouse gas emissions, and yet, at the same time, agriculture is among the first victims. Together with Slow Food communities around the world, we want to find solutions, starting with how food is made and consumed. By purchasing local, seasonal food with less packaging, families can eat healthier, more delicious foods, save the planet, and strengthen our local economy.
Local growers and producers:
To connect local producers with local eaters, we are compiling a list of growers, farm stands, farmers markets, CSA programs, and local artisan products in the greater Seattle area. If you know of a producer who is not on the lists, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
