Members and friends are invited to our 2018 Annual Members Meeting and Potluck on Sunday, November 4th at the Montlake Community Center. We have been busy this summer designing our new website, reorganizing our board, creating a new Advisory Board, and designing new programs for our members and supporters. We can't wait to share everything with you!
Before the meeting, we will sit down together for a potluck. November is Thank a Farmer Month so we are encouraging everyone to bring a dish featuring local produce and ingredients. Bring a tag with a short description of your dish including the local ingredients you used. We will bring local oysters from Taylor Shellfish!
* Farmers markets open in November: Ballard, Capitol Hill, Pike Place, University District, Vashon Island, and West Seattle.
* Farmers Markets open until a week or so before our event: Burien, Federal Way, Kent East Hill, and Redmond.
Meet the new members of the Slow Food Seattle Board and Advisory Board.
Learn about the organization's emerging presence as the "Slow Food Community."
Hear from our local Terra Madre delegates: Susan Balbas, Na'ah Illahee Fund Executive Director, Kären Jurgensen, Seattle Central College Chef Instructor, David George Gordon, author/chef, and Peter Contrastano, SF Bastyr Chapter Lead, as they share their experiences and impressions of this year's Terra Madre gathering in Italy.
Learn about Slow Food's new Equity, Inclusion and Justice Manifesto that was presented to the membership at Slow Food Nations in July.
This event is free and family friendly.
