Coming Up: 5/15 Spring Slow Food and Wine Tour

If you've been following Slow Food Seattle for a while, you'd know we love connecting people to their local food producers by journeying with them directly to the source to experience farm life firsthand.  We've taken groups to Finnriver Farm and Cidery to enjoy -both tasting and harvesting the fruits of their labor -in 2013, and got up close and personal with Kurt's Jersey herd at Kurtwood Farms last summer.

This spring, to celebrate the growing season, we're mixing things up. Coinciding with their recent debut at both University District Farmers Market and West Seattle Farmers Market of their signature, award-winning 100% organic, island grown, sourced, and bottled wine -we're announcing our first partner event with Bainbridge Vineyards & neighboring Laughing Crow Farm.

Join Slow Food Seattle in mid-May for a spring farm and winery tour to agriculturally rich Bainbridge Island a short 35 minute ferry ride from Seattle. We'll travel a few miles from the ferry landing, up Hwy 305 and off of Day Road, to descend upon 7 acres of historic farmland, home to Bainbridge Vineyards and Laughing Crow Farms. We'll enjoy the picturesque scenery on foot with a private farm and winery tour and tasting, along with one of our legendary
Slow Food potlucks, and the option to tend to the vineyards with your very own hands.
