Slow Food Seattle Community Volunteering Opportunities

In 2016, we are increasing community service participation. We will have two upcoming volunteer activities through Slow Food Seattle in March and we'd love to volunteer along with you! Details and contact to sign up below.

1) Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 3PM-7PM: we will provide dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House in Seattle is a “home-away-from-home” for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital. It is located near the Laurelhurst neighborhood and not far from the U-Village shopping center.

We need up to 6 volunteers to help cook and serve dinner, starting at 3PM. SFUSA member Ron Askew has graciously offered to prepare lasagna and the rest of the Slow Food Seattle volunteers will be preparing sides and dessert. Our shift will wrap up and everything will be put away by 7 PM.

Please contact Board member Rachel at volunteer@slowfoodseattle.org as soon as possible if you are interested in volunteering for dinner.

2) Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 1PM-4 PM: we will complete a sort and pack shift at Food Lifeline in Shoreline. We need 12 volunteers for a team shift.

If you'd like to learn more about Food Lifeline and the community organizations it serves, check out: https://foodlifeline.org/about

Please contact Board member Rachel at volunteer@slowfoodseattle.org if you're interested in working with us at Food Lifeline.

Both opportunities are open to members and non-members. Bring your friends!
